Stuttering is a neurological problem caused by an interruption with the speaker's own voice. One method of avoiding stuttering is by modifying the speaker's voice. I have heard good and bad things about SpeechEasy. In my case I have used the Edinburgh Masker (EM) for years and it is wonderful. The EM blocks you from hearing your speech and hence you stutter less. There is an old but excellent article in the British Journal of Communication Disorders. There is also Delayed Auditory Feedback (DAF) which lets you hear your speech a fraction of a second after speaking. In my opinion DAF is also a very good option. Another option is modifying the speaker's voice such as the McGuire Program, Lee Lovett and others. I have heard good and bad things about these programs. It seems to help a lot of people but certainly not everyone.
