The problem is there’s not enough funding or general interest in stuttering treatments. It’s not looked upon as a serious disability. I personally don’t expect there to be medical intervention for a very long time, unfortunately. Although there was recently the discovery of a gene that seems to be associated with stuttering, it was specifically said to not misunderstand and think that means treatments are just over the horizon.
