Anxious Situations make stutter way worse

Anxious Situations make stutter way worse I have very bad anxiety/OCD even though I portray myself to others as a confident and outgoing person. In low stress environments such as hanging out with my girlfriend, talking to my parents on the deck or with my friends my stutter is limited (1-2 rating). When in high stress situations such as placing an order at a restaurant, speaking to a high level authority member, or being put on the spot with a question I tend to stutter much worse (3-4 rating). I can literally feel my heart racing and chest tightening in this moment and I get horrible anxiety right before speaking. This makes me think that my noticeable stuttering is absolutely connected to my anxiety levels. Due to this, I’m really considering taking some medication to improve anxiety levels which will hopefully improve my stuttering as well. I have heard great things about citalopram (Celexa) for this issue and Lexapro as well. Can anyone relate to my situation and could provide any insight?
