Your perception might be that your stutter was caused by speaking too quickly as a child, but this isn't supported by any peer-reviewed research. It's understandable to wonder but that doesn't make those wonderings correct. All kids have dysfluencies, especially word or phrase repetitions, as their language and motor speech system matures.
