Hi, late to the post but thought I'd give my experience. It's not law enforcement, but I joined the Army in 2012 with a mild block stutter. I worked in Intelligence and had to give briefings and presentations to many, many higher ranking officers and important people. I had a lot of sleepless nights worrying about if I would stutter on this word or that word or if I'd even be able to say my own name and introduce myself, but in the end practice, practice, practice is what helped me through it. A thesaurus was my best friend. Sure I stuttered here and there during my presentations and a few people would tease me after but the handshakes, awards and praise definitely outweighed the teasing. If I spoke to my 18 year old self and told him that he was going to be giving presentations in front of foreign national governments and important figures, he'd probably die right there. The only thing holding you back, is you. There will be ups and downs naturally, but in the end it'll help you and your stutter. Best of luck!
