I agree. Growing up I was convinced that people wouldn't be able to get passed my stutter or that they would make fun. In reality though, I can count on my fingers the times I've been ridiculed maliciously for my stutter. It was all in my head and once I got over myself I realized people are cool. Yeah, it's a little awkward for people to watch my try to start a sentence for 5 seconds but most people are good about getting passed that
