Vanir, Yes, all those times when you don't stutter make perfect sense. Maybe when you're angry you allow your true self to emerge, without filters. My stuttering was fully emotional. At the age of 70, through psychotherapy for an abusive childhood, I became fluent. I have remained fluent for 7 years. Keep learning. Not all stuttering is emotionally caused but all stuttering takes an emotional toll. Psychological counseling would help most of us. From what you've related, the relationship with your mother deserves exploration. Best, Sue It's important to investigate every and all information about stuttering. Not all is accurate or even helpful but it will open doors to your understanding of stuttering.
