You're welcome! It's not easy being a person who stutters, but it doesn't define me. It's just one small component that I have to live with. Lots of people have disabilities, I try to concentrate on what I excel at, what I have to offer. I'm glad SLPs are embracing that approach now (they weren't over my younger years of intensive speech therapy). A lot of us who stutter have to get that chip off our shoulder, and also realize that most people don't care if we stutter. They care that we have empathy, are a good spouse, parent, friend, are funny or have a positive attitude. Anyone who judges me because I stutter has a problem I think is worse than my stutter. I only card about the opinions of those I respect. Those who think less of me because I stutter in fall into the "I don't care what you think of me, your opinion has no impact on my self esteem, you don't demonstrate the kind of qualities I look for or admire in others" category!
