Many jobs very legitimately require verbal communication skills. What if someone like OP has hard silent blocks that severely limit what they say, how they say it? We’ve all seen people on this sub regularly admit to sometimes making up a new name or ordering food they don’t like because the correct sounds will not come out of their mouth. It’s not about trying to live within the expectations of others - if you have significant blocking problems (avoidance, fear, etc), you cannot live within your own expectations. I’m not asking for advice bc I have a long post here about how to address these issues.
