I went through the police academy before I dropped for other reasons. I'm planning on going to the State now, but mine is pretty mild like I talk fast or have a slip up before speaking. It didn't affect me in the academy and no one including the director didn't care. You just need to be confident and show confidence. Also, a side note, I would recommend changing your degree. Among the 1000s applicants for the state, I got the upper hand because my degree is cybersecurity. But that's up to you.
