Hi there! I am an SLP as well as a person who stutters with 10+ years working with children and adults who stutter. I have to agree with u/Jaeger__85. Recommending filler words and sounds are considered to be "avoidance dysfluencies" and can be a detriment to or be even more distracting than the actual stuttering dysfluencies themselves. The American Speech-Language Hearing Association classifies , "adding filler sounds or words (interjections)" in your speech as a stuttering behavior. The technique you are recommending is not only replacing one type of dysfluency for another, but it is also promoting avoidance behaviors. As a clinician treating stuttering, some of the FIRST goals and objectives in the treatment plan revolve around suppressing avoidance behaviors and eliminating secondary behaviors of stuttering such as interjections and added sounds. Encouraging others to engage in adding sounds or interjections is counter productive. I have included some links containing information on stuttering and avoidance dysfluencies.
