" I find that experience really embarrassing." * if you **react** to the feared letter by doing fight or flight response (feeling embarrassed and rumination), then you make the feared letter more fearful in your mind (and you start believing that the feared letter is more true and your true intentions) My suggestion is to learn: * to stop **reacting** to the feared letter * that stuttering **doesn't bother** you (imagine, you are learning to roller skate, then you will learn faster if 'falling' is not bothering you) * to **trust** your body that it can say the letter D in order to stop anticipating, justifying and choosing compulsion and to stop trying to control your body
