> Any recommendations to avoid fight or flight mode? Do the opposite of what the intrusive thoughts/feelings say. In your case, you avoid, hide and change stuttering anticipation. The opposite is passively observe stuttering anticipation to learn that these anticipatory intrusive thoughts and feeling are not dangerous. The positive result is that anticipation doesn't result in fight, flight and freeze mode anymore and you won't block. It's not the anticipation that causes a paralysis in the speech muscles, rather it's when you give in to the freeze response. What I explained is called [desensitization](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desensitization_(psychology)).
