I think this cannot be said enough, and is perfectly highlighted in your post: 'Victory' is when we're able to express ourselves confidently and freely, regardless of whether we stutter or not. Victory is when we do something we fear (speaking) and push out our comfort zone. For many pws like you that have pushed past their fear, they realize that other people don''t care about our stutter as much as we do. Even if we offend someone with our stutter, its not our job to keep everyone happy. This is an impossible task anyways! Our job is to simply express ourselves freely. If someone makes fun of us, it makes them the bad person, NOT us. Many pws try to associate 'fluency' with victory, and when, not surprisingly, they cannot achieve perfect fluency, they come out of that experience with fear, regret, and shame. This is clearly not a healthy mindset.
