This reminds me of Neuralink, a project funded by elon musk. Its a neural network, which im sure you could have guessed, that works by installing a chip in the brains of people witj severe mental disabilties, to help them retain fleeting functions, and in their hopes, regain or possibly even enhance neural functions. An example would be someone with dementia can now remember his family and realize again whats reality and what was his brain's failure to process reality.
