Hey! I'm going to become 23 next month. It has been one year since I started my masters at UPenn as an international student. My stutter became so bad just before I came to UPenn and it stayed bad even after I got here. And like you, it has been becoming worse and worse as I am growing older. I believe your mother gave you good advise and that helped me in reducing my stutter. I realized that I was too engrossed with my work and was barely social. I started eating from food carts a lot more and tried to talk to them especially when I'm the only customer. I got so many chances to do that and I just expanded from there to my part time workplace and I joined other clubs during my second year at Penn. I really ensured that I was social after a little improvement even though I stuttered a little. I recently attended a cricket tournament and my team went out for dinner on the same day as well. The whole team were complete strangers from different majors and it was a big group. I just didn't give a f about my stutter and continued to be social and talked a lot. I am riding high on confidence right now and I realized how much I improved over the months.
