Mate, I feel you. Stuttering has caused tons and tons of depression and very recently and even now still incredible jealousy over an absolute dream career that I can’t get simply due to my stutter in my speech. But what Carletonb is trying to say is that, you have one life. We can’t control the fact that we stutter nor can we control others opinions. We don’t wanna waste our lives being miserable and bitter due to the stutter. If we lived our whole lives based in the truth (truth being that stutterers are frankly worse off than non stutters) we would always feel inferior. We have to accept that we will be inferior in the speech department and not be deluded. But our lives are still in existence. We can still find meaning and get happiness out of it, even though it may sound crazy now. Maybe we can see therapists to find what can activate the joy and journey and power in ourselves but there is something we can do to give ourselves a half decent life. Voluntarily do what you can to avoid negative feelings and see a therapist (not an insult, genuine advice for anyone looking to be happy and find purpose, joy, and relief.) to try to find a path in life to maximize our miraculous, disbelieving existence. I believe this can potentially help us get the most net-happiness that we can in life, maybe. But life is like this, who knows.
