I'm still new to this platform and this subreddit in particular, so I'm actually shocked that I'm not the only one feeling this. My mom took me to a speech therapist once when I was about 9 or 10, I told her that I was getting anxious in advance and it would worsen my stutter. She was very confused and assumed I was faking my stutter. I never went to a speech therapist since then because I thought I'm weird and they won't believe me. But it's actually a thing! And I'm not the one having it like that!
