Very similar thing happened to me, stutter since a kid. Dropped out of school early as a result, got a sales job in my early 20s and helped me almost get over my stutter completely. It still rears its ugly head every now and again, it's been particularly bad recently again, but you just learn to move past it. Did pretty well in sales despite my stutter and worked my way into management which is where I am today. It is definitely possible to live a normal, successful life with a stutter. It, for sure, requires some extra work and effort compared to most but that is one of the things that helped me build confidence in myself. How amazing must I be to be able to do all this while dealing with the stress and difficulty of having a stutter? It's nice to remind yourself that at times.
