Thinking about getting into IT, but worried about having to talk on the phone all day.

Thinking about getting into IT, but worried about having to talk on the phone all day. I've been wanting to get into IT since I was a kid (I'm 30 now) but I've always been petrified of having to talk on the phone all day and having to constantly introduce myself. I'd say my stuttering is moderate but it gets worse being on the phone or when I feel embarrassed; which is a lot of the time. Does anyone have any advice or experience with this?
