I think you're spot on, and that's something I definitely need to work on. I really let my stutter define me, and my self confidence takes a big hit every time anyone makes a comment or laughs about it. I really, really hope that my kids will be fine with my stutter and that they won't reach a stage of being embarrassed by me. But you make a really good point - if my stutter makes them more understanding and sympathetic towards others (it has done so for me), then it is worth it. Thanks for the kind response.
