>what if I didn't have this stutter and approached them Your stutter isn't stopping you from doing this. You are. There are some things about a stutter we have no control over. We can't control our moments of disfluency, and we can rarely control the physical manifestations that come along with them. We *can* control what we do and don't do. We have agency. You should try to re-frame your attitude toward this. Instead of thinking 'my stutter stopped me', think 'I stopped myself'. Sort out the things you have control over from those you don't. That's when you can begin taking charge and living the life you want. I'm not saying beat yourself up about it or anything. But it gives you a frame of mind that this is something you can work toward, as opposed to it being something out of your control.
