stuttering and shy bladder (paruresis) I met a man who has shy bladder. Some 17 million Americans do. He **fasted for 2 days** to fly from Miami to Denver and to Grand Junction, CO. He would not use a bathroom in any airport, airplane, or anywhere until he was locked in a hotel room. He is afraid 'to be seen' in the bathroom. When I told him I was once afraid to say my name he couldn't believe it. Shocked he asked "how can someone be afraid of their name?" What does stuttering and shy bladder have in common?
