When people finish your sentences

When people finish your sentences I can understand that with most people, finishing someone's sentence for them is probably a habit. They don't know they're doing it, and they aren't doing it to be spiteful or out of malice but it's the one thing that really gets to me. Sometimes I admit, it does help if someone says a word for me, say one that I'm blocking on, but when people finish sentences and interrupt you it can be really crushing. You wouldn't interrupt someone in the middle of a conversation if they wasn't stuttering so why do it with those of us that do? It's worse when they finish the sentence but it's not what you were going to say so you have to go back and correct them which can make it harder, or agree with them and accept it, but that's not what you wanted to say in the first place. I've done that and had it happen to me for most of my life, more so now I'm an adult even though my stutter is much better but still visible. It just gets to me I suppose, I should probably just roll with it and not let it bother me but that's easier said than done.
