Yes, you will be. At least I have. However, things will improve not because you will get better, but because you will have to get better. For me, when I was young, speaking in a social situation with a lot of people was a complete no. I wouldn't utter a single word. As an adult heading towards his mid-30s, I cannot afford to not say things in a social situation, so slowly by slow, I have started to break my shell and have started to talk. But I am careful of what I say. I let my mind decide if the thing I'm about to say will cause me to stutter or not, and if I have the green signal, I will blurt it out. This "decision making" comes from experience that you will naturally develop over the years. I am also far more confident of speaking on the phone (I have zero problems calling anyone but when I was young, I would ask my brother or a friend to do it for me), I have no problems giving orders at a restaurant, speaking to people to ask information, etc. All I will say is just keep on hustling. You will face situations in life that will be unavoidable to get out of, and you mustn't then try to look for an exit, but face it, and embrace it, and tough it out. You might fail or succeed, but it will give you valuable experience in how to handle these situations.
