As a severe stutterer I hate when people with mild stuttering give us lectures on acceptance I can’t relate to anything they say and the toxic positivity when someone who has an occasional stuttering say things like “stuttering doesn’t define you” well it does! Or “ it didn’t prevent me from doing anything i want” well that’s in your case but for me it actually did! I got a phone call from a recruiting agency and I couldn’t say “hello”, I applied on a job as a labourer that requires minimum communication skills and i got rejected. No one is gonna take me seriously if i keep asking employers to contact me via sms or email. We had enough and someone people makes it like it’s our fault and we could do better!
