Am I the only one who thinks speech therapies don't work either?[Venting] Post-edit: I mean, in the long run. This is my second therapy. Previously, I received a therapy based on desensitization + modification 8 years ago. Even though I benefited from it to a large extent since I at least overcame my fear of being judged, my speech kept getting worse from time to time and I wasn't able to use any of those modification techniques. Right now, I'm getting second therapy which is exclusively based on block modification this time. The thing is that I can't apply the techniques my therapist prescribed all the time. Though I can sometimes, I can't implement them in daily life to a large extent and feel like I'm back to square one. Yes, I know that speech therapy is not about "curing it" but rather managing it, but what's the point if my speech gets worse again and I am not able use those "techniques" to manage it after a while? Sometimes, I feel like our only way out is an FDA-approved medication, which we don't know such a thing will ever come.
