M33 fellow stutterer. Best thing I can say is that it does get better. I was much more self-conscious about my stutter 10 years ago, even moreso 20 years ago. I used to think how I ever could get a job or a girlfriend and feel have a normal life. But it has only gone better. My stutter hasn't gotten better mind you, but I just don't care as much anymore. I think it's just something in general that comes with age for most people. You will start feeling more comfortable with yourself. It's easy for me to say "Just don't care". But that's really what you should work towards. I'd advice challenging yourself, even if it makes you seriously scared. I went to speech therapy and 80% of the work was making me comfortable stuttering and not caring about it. I'd call businesses and make inquires on the phone. I'd go into stores and inquire in person. At the end of the day I'd still be alive and well. My heart would be trying to escape my chest in the moment and I'd be pale as a ghost, but I survived, and so will you. I can guarantee you most people will not care that you stutter, especially not if you show confidence and don't let it hold you back.
