I just do it alone. It would be too annoying for others. For the most part, reading aloud helps with my confidence. If I experience good, steady, repeatable success with reading, then, that helps to translate to fluent speech with others. One problem I have is that when I'm speaking to others, I'll notice either how well I'm speaking or not speaking to them (instead of focusing on the content of what I'm talking about). As soon as my focus leave the content of what I'm talking about, I am many times more likely to block. Reading aloud helps me to get used to my voice and not listen to myself so much. I hope all that makes sense.
