I'd always think that speaking with someone on the phone should be easier because usually the other person can't tell when you're having a block or a tic and you can always blame the signal so there's less pressure and anxiety but for some reason that's not the case. However, you made a really good point. Many use hand signals to help with their stutter and that's not possible when on a phone call.
