I recently presented myself to the army and had two issues I had to talk about. The first was that I had to go to the office and say that my name wasn’t on the list. I only got stuck when I had to say my age, like ‘eeigeeigeighteen.’ The soldier noticed and told me to speak slowly, which sometimes discourages me… Also, when I went for the medical inspection, I got stuck trying to say just the letters ‘P’ and ‘U.’ I tried to say a simple word, but it wouldn’t come out—I was like ‘uhhh uhh U.’ The doctor asked if I was nervous, and I said I had anxiety, so I was dismissed on the spot. These are really unpleasant situations, but I’ve learned to deal with them a little better.
