I’m not American but I am filled to the brim with pride. As someone who struggled with a severe stutter for most of my life, it has been so enlightening to watch Joe not only conquer speeches and interviews on the world stage, but to see his empathy in the way he has taken Braden under his wing. I know this may seem small to those who have never experienced living with or been close to someone with a speech impediment, but it’s huge. I’ve warmed to Joe so much since learning of his struggles with his speech since childhood. Reaching out to Braden as he did proves his empathy and warmness as a human being. Joe, your success has made me believe that I can do great things and stand in positions of power regardless of my irregular speech. Thank you for proving that we are limitless despite our so called “limitation” and that a small town kid with a stutter can become the voice of a nation.
