Online Dating + Stuttering

Online Dating + Stuttering To all the lead-tongued lotharios and disfluent flirts here: I'm dipping my toe into the online dating scene again after a plague-based hiatus and running into an old problem: the gross disparity between my online persona and my real-life social anxiety. Point-blank, my text game is amazing. I promise I'm not as corny and patronizing when texting a woman. My conversations are clever jokes and dope Spongebob gifs all the way down. Which makes it understandably disappointing (to both parties involved) when we meet in person and I either go into shy avoidance mode or stumbling over my words. How do y'all get around this? Being upfront about my stutter would probably help, right? But I always think to myself, "This time is gonna be different. Just take it a syllable at a time and she won't even know..." Fast-forward to "H-h-hey! *internal scream*" at first sight. How do you bring up your "speech impediment" without it being awkward?
