My advice is, just say you have a stutter. It really helps. Oddly, I don’t stutter when speaking in front of groups. But I definitely do when speaking one on one with people. In my experience, if you directly tell people, “I’m sorry, give me a second, I have a stutter,” everyone will be fine with it. If you think about it, you would need to be a serious a—— to mock someone for having, a guess you might call a “disability”. For lack of a better term. 🙏
