I think it may have something to do with suppressing our creativity, individuality, and excitement as you said. And we have a fear of influencing others, such as making them laugh, because as someone that stutters we are so used to feeding ourselves thoughts that we aren’t powerful speakers. So when we go to say a joke we feel uncomfortable by these feelings and hold them back. We just gotta become more comfortable with our internal feelings.
