Of course, stuttering has impacted me mentally ever since childhood but taking a step back, who are we *actually* changing ourselves for? Majority of vents of stuttering are here because people have felt bullied, harassed, ridiculed, mocked, abused, etc for their stuttering due to society's problem with our speech. If anything, why don't we take a step back and see the positives stuttering brings such as higher levels of empathy for others? Why are people offended by the sound of a stutter and not be patient for just a couple of seconds to let someone finish their sentence? Would you not be kind and patient with someone with much more serious speech conditions such as Tourette's instead of telling them to change? This is what an excellent speech therapist will teach that nobody holds a magic wand and there is no cure but if we spread awareness.
