For me, it was more difficult as a teenager. I had a life, sosort of, but I let it hold me back a lot more, and it was infinitely harder to meet girls. The older I got, the less of an obstacle stuttering became. Employers, good ones anyway, are much more interested in results and performance than your level of fluency. Dating became easier as well; interest in the opposite sex entails a lot more than speaking clearly, and the type of people who wouldn't date someone because of a stutter are the type you wouldn't date if you didn't stutter. Sometimes I'm kind of surprised I have a wife, kids and a career-I certainly never envisioned it as a teenager-but life happens and suddenly your stutter isn't as big of a deal as you thought.
