I definitely went through that phase of not wanting to ever speak again in a public setting. It takes some mental work (for lack of a better phrase), but I've come to realize over time that my stutter doesn't define what I am capable of. Yeah, having a stutter can suck in a lot of situations, but just know that it is such a small part of you overall, and you are capable of everything that someone without a stutter is. I guarantee this situation you talked about will be so small in the grand scheme of things, and you will move past and be stronger from it.
