Speaking in a loud voice/dealing with stress Hi. I just got a new job and some of my responsibilities include being a cashier. I’m generally a pretty soft-spoken person and now sometimes I have to use a loud voice to get the attention of a customer or a manager. That in itself is a bit distressing, but I’m also finding it hard to translate some of my speech techniques to cooperate with speaking loudly. I tend to just get blocked up. Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with this better? And also how to better deal with stress that makes it difficult to speak fluently (for example, I’m at work and a customer’s card is not working or some other issue comes up that I need to request a manager’s help, my anxiety goes through the roof and I can basically not talk for a few seconds. As another example, this lady was trying to recycle her toner cartridges for her printer and I was explaining to my manager the situation over my headset, but since I was getting stuck, the lady thought I was confused and so SHE was also talking explaining to me what was going on which made it hard for me to focus on what I was saying and compounded my anxiety)
