Well you are expressing a concern about acting on dopamine receptors, I deduce that you may have the same opinion on serotonine and noradrenaline receptors.... I do not put words in your mouth. I m not following any therapy at the moment, I did though in the past. The speech therapies I have followed didn t work much or did only temporarily. I consider them a distraction, including the mcguire programme. Not saying that there aren't out there valid speech therapies for stuttering but so far, I have not find them. I often try to change my approach to my stutter, how I relate myself with the others, family, work. Etc.. I practice yoga, self awareness...I try a lot of things, also because I have a terrible anxiety with nasty physical symptoms too.. You know what I think after 40 years? It s in my brain, it s a disturb, there is something different in my brain....I would welcome a medication that could help with that any day of the week.
