As a kid my stutter was crippling. I don’t think I spoke my entire 7th and 8th grade career. In high school it relaxed a bit, but I still had my highs and lows with it. Now, at age 40, my stutter is still around, but not nearly as bad as it was when I was younger. I still go through my bouts with it (usually around the holidays) but for the most part I can work around it. I still can’t introduce myself well, or say anything that starts with a “D” sound (like delivery) without a bit of luck or a few beers.
