I've had a severe stutter too ever since i was a kid. i'm in my early 20s now and it becomes worse sometimes even now. Ive been working for 3 years now. The reason is that i wanted to put myself out there. I throw myself in awkward situations where people would just stare at me waiting for me to finish my sentence. I did that over and over again. Now i feel like i'm not afraid of it anymore. it is stressful for sure but the stutter has improved a lot. I've also been more vocal about it. i've started talking to people about my stutter and would appreciate if they could be more patient with me. I've been at your place too. I'm so sorry for how your stutter has made you feel. But don't let this hold you back. I hope my suggestion helps.
