For me it does help, but only temporarily. It's like a warm up: if I speak out loud for some time, my vocal chords, through, tongue, lips, mouth are warmed up, and stutter is much much weaker. For me, a stuttering moment feels like a wall, when I'm warmed up this wall is like paper, easier to breach (it's still there). But like 20 mins later (if I stay in silence), it goes away. Not durable at all.
