I have an incident to share, that may or may not relate the post. I guess it sort of does. Years ago, when I first started looking for a job and was desparate, I started applying to sales position because fuck it, I wanted to make money and I just couldn't land an interview at places I wanted to. I got a call from a company, went for an interview, and stuttered pretty badly. To my utter surprise, he offered me a job and told me to come from tomorrow. It was a door-to-door salesman position, and I had to sell books. He said he offered me a job based on my ethnicity which are known to be born businessmen, lol. I was like...err, okay, I will come from tomorrow. And so I did, went with another salesman to sell books, and found that not only was the job extremely physically tasking, but I just didn't have it in me to do these kind of jobs. So I cut the "training" sort and escaped. But anyway, yes, I have been ghosted as well when I tell them about my stutter, even if I am more than qualified for the job. My dad used to stutter as well but his job, which required a LOT of talking, sort of fixed it for himself. For the duration of the period I had known him, he rarely stuttered, and it wasn't until his brain attack before his passing, that his stutter returned.
