Sure. Sorry for not being clear. OP initially asked what people do to combat or fight the urge of holding back, e.g. not saying what you want to say in a given situation. When i do that it’s because of fear/apprehension/not wanting to stutter. I combat that by openly fake stuttering because it lets me say what i want to say, still sound like I’m stuttering, but I’m still in control. So, feeling in control decreases the feelings of shame/apprehension/not wanting to stutter the next time. In other words the more i desensitize myself with pseudostutterng to actual real stuttering, the less the feelings of fear, apprehension, not wanting to stutter become.
