I think as we get older we become more patient and having patience is key with stuttering. Not just with our stutter but with ourselves. When i was younger, I'm 50 now, i tried to hide it. I didn't want anyone to know i stuttered. That caused me a lot of anxiety; anxiety which causes stuttering. Now that I'm older I'm like F it. If i stutter, I stutter and I'm so much more relaxed now; so i stutter less. Plus, I've developed different fluency tips like if i stutter; i stop talking. (instead of trying to force it out) i give a slight smile to The other person. I take a breath then a slight exhale and try again. Rinse and repeat until i get what i need to get said. Sometimes i tap my foot to slow myself down. One tap per word, or one tap per syllable if it's a long or hard word to say. Newsflash, there is no right or wrong way to do this or hell any of this mess called life; find what works best for you and go for it And as always, be kind to yourself
