Even I was so scared when I joined my university because I was stuttering a lot ever since my visa interview. It got so bad that I wasn't even able to get my point across compared to just stuttering a bit here and there and actually being able to get my point across. I was so sad and I had discovered the YouTube channel American Institute of Stuttering and I was just watching all the talks on stuttering by many celebrities alone in the house because my roommate was scheduled to arrive only a week later. I had even given a job interview for my part time job where I stuttered a bit...but they were cool with it and I even got that job. They were all nice people and I had stuttered a bit with them in person as well and they were very patient and understanding. This did help me a bit as well along with watching those youtube videos and pretty soon I became confident again. I had practised going to food stalls when it was not crowded and was just me...because I am very shy to stutter in public in front of a crowd. I just spoke more and more and got some confidence back. Even though it was not the same level of stuttering I had before...it definitely improved and I was so happy that I could atleast convey what I wanted to say and can actually get things done or ask for help.
