I think in a variety of ways: conceptually, visually, musically. Thinking in words is definitely not my most common way of thinking. A couple of years ago a post went viral where someone found out some people don't have an internal monologue and it ruined his day, which I thought was an overreaction. I find it quite weird that many people have narration going on constantly in their head. Someone on YouTube interviewed one of her employees asking what it was like but having an internal monologue. I'd have liked to see the questions asked of her as well. The interviewer, when asked in the comments if, when about to vomit, she needed to hear words in her head saying "I'm going to be sick" or if the queasy feeling in the stomach was enough to know, she said she literally had to hear the words. That's bizarre to me. My cat knows when he's going to puke, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't think in words.
