What have YOU done today to improve yourself? A lot of you come here to whine and complain about your stutters. Blah blah I can't talk, blah blah job interview this, etc. But what are you doing to actively improve on it? We are a disadvantaged group of people from birth, but a lot of you do nothing for yourselves to try to overcome anxiety, reduce your stuttering, and becoming a well rounded person overall. This week, I took a trip to Europe. Alone. This is something that regular people find hard to do. Imagine how hard it must be for someone to have to go out in cities they don't know, with people that speak a foreign language and have different customs? Now, imagine all of that PLUS how hard it is for someone with social anxiety AND has a stutter? Guess what? I had a fucking blast. I put myself out there, I talked to dozens of people, I made new friends from all over the world, and even hooked up with 1 girl and made out with another. I always try to challenge myself every fucking day to get better, to improve myself. Nobody gave a shit about my stuttering and come to think of it, I rarely stuttered at all. Maybe a little bit while introducing myself or small talk at first, but one thing I noticed is that I got better every single time. Why aren't you guys doing this? Especially you mild stutters? Go out there and bomb 10 job interviews if you have to, give a speech, read out loud to the class, go embarrass yourself trying to introduce yourself. You'll feel like shit. BUT, every single time you will get less and less nervous and stutter less. You'll become stoic, you won't care if others laugh, you've been through it before and will keep on going and driving on. I know this doesn't apply to everyone but it does for all of you anxiety based stutterers like me. The world rewards those who take risks and those who push themselves. Stop whining and do something about it. Go ahead, call me a douche like you guys did in my other post a month ago. But what have you done since then? What have been the fruits of your complaining and whining? I'll tell you what. Absolutely nothing.
