Hello, I’ve stuttered all my life took better control of it in high school but it does rear it’s ugly head every now and then. I literally had an interview today, a friend of mine that worked there told his boss i stutter, clearly none of his business to tell him that but it was said. When i get there to talk with mr.boss, the first thing he brings up is my stutter and that this may affect my success with the business and no customer will come or trust a person who stutters. After trying to explain to him this does not effect my ability to preform he offers to refer me to a different department in the business so i don’t have interaction with customers. Told him I’ll think about it and call him later. I called him later told him I’d like to prove myself to him and his decision should not be based off what other people say and that my stutter will not effect my success. He said “that’s not happening and i will have the manger of the other department call you later today. Bye.” Not looking for sympathy but i wanted to tell that story. Hate that this happened but i feel this is a huge case for discrimination.
